Agreed. I'm not suggesting there aren't elements of masculinity that are toxic, but a term like this has been over-used, like so many other stereotypes of men.
I work in mental health and one of the things that doesn’t always work for men is how so much of therapy is female-centric and talk based rather than, say, action. This isn’t to say men don’t need to learn how to articulate feelings and emotions. I don’t feel we respond as well to analyzation the same way women do. And we need more men in counseling.
