As you are out numbered, I agree, less is more. But as it's so predictable and common, I wouldn't let it slide either. For the washing machine example:

I haven't see anything like that based on race. And then move on, and thank them for their help.

If they want to press, don't take the bait. We're just going to have to disagree on that point. And disengage.

I'm not confronted by overt racism. But I've seen a lot of in-your-face tactics by liberals that only seem to entrench people.
