Both liberals and conservatives parrot certain talking points, for and against Scandinavian Democracy, without really understanding it. I like your detailed, yet colloquial explanations. I find it very readable and informative. While My interest is in Scandinavian Democracy/Economics, it was neat to see a possible familial tie-in for my great-grandparents immigration.

They immigrated separately, my great-grandfather in 1905. They met through the Norwegian community. There’s still and active Norse Hall in Portland. Seattle and Bellingham, WA have big Norwegian communities as well. My grandmother could speak Norwegian, but none of her kids could. Culturally, it’s down to the food for me: krumkake, julebrød, and lefsa!
