Elections run under that method are more complicated to count - I know, I've done them! - so results generally take longer to announce.

This is one of the issues I think America needs to address or deal with; the need for results to be immediate. I live in a vote by mail state, but for places that voting person, we should make that a long weekend; Sunday to Tuesday. Democracy need not be rushed!
