Fox/cable channels and didn’t fall under the old Fairness Doctrine. But the gutting of it allowed for Limbaugh to spout unchecked. We need a new and improved Fairness Doctrine that restores expectations on mainstream media, television, radio, and print journalism. And, it should be updated to include cable, podcasts, and the internet, including social media platforms… especially examining the algorithms that stream an unsolicited mono-culture of content across our feeds, often amplifying viewpoints without balance.
