I have no problem with criticizing any ‘hero’ and wish we didn’t put people on pedestals in the first place. However, a lot of our rejection of historical figures isn’t always… productive. That’s why I really like the tact you’ve taken here.

I’d add Hugh Thompson Jr. who is credited with ending the Mỹ Lai Massacre.
