I like power tools and doing things myself. There's a satisfaction there that just isn't matched when I buy or pay for shit. That said, I'm better at picking what I have other people do. For example, I don't change the oil on my car anymore.

I have a lot of geeky hobbies, I don't know anyone would identify them as 'manly,' but I'm a guy, so I don't care what other people think.

But to respond to the question, what 'manly' aspect have I rejected? Sports. I love competition and I played a lot sports as a youth and into my 40s. But I got tired of the bravado. I got tired of football and playing for the hit rather than the tackle. I'm just not interested in the violence. I'm also tired of ego and excess. So by and large I've stopped watching college and pro sports. I'm just not interested in supporting it.
