I really don't think it's competition that's keeping guys from reaching out as they age. I loved competing in sports, I miss those guys.

I think it has more to do with dependency on women to maintain relationship, or for a certain kind of bonding. And that leads to some men being uncomfortable with tender subjects with other men.
