I saw the conversation where two words were mentioned in regard to the other: naïve and pessimistic. I'll focus on the latter. The words I'd use for some progressives isn't pessimistic. Rather, I'd use surly, superior, and/or dismissive. I've learned over the years to just disengage. There's common ground there, but it's just not worth the effort.

I don't know if you're naïve, Simon. But as I've said before, I appreciate the effort.
