In terms of the echo chamber that amplifies voices and sews distrust I do think we need some government interventions. One, is to remove anonymity from the internet. This doesn't mean you have to use your real name, but it does mean you have to be a real person to register on social media, and there has to be a means for basically screening out bots.

We also need a New and Improved Fairness Doctrine. One of the things it must address is the use of algorithms that stream an unsolicited mono-culture of content across our feeds, often amplifying viewpoints without balance. Medium is a prime example, look at the crap that shows up in our feeds, just because you click on something once.

And, of course, we need a better distribution of wealth. Not redistribution, but correct distribution in the first place, we need to meaningfully address the inequity the world.
