It's all according to what fear is being forwarded at the time by the people that control their unread, uncurious minds.

I have some conservative friends that are very well read. They read different authors than I do. Some are libertarians. What concerns me most is the way neo-liberal economics and the idea that self-interest will lift any boat has become so ingrained in so many. Middle of the road people aren't immune. I think this mindset has trickled down to voting issues. It's about the only thing that has trickled down.

While I share your concerns regarding the Republican Machinery, I'm trying to focus on how to engage folks. We know that more we try to change some one's mind the more dug in they become. Upcoming columns won't be persuasion, they'll just be stories.
