It's always ok. I suppose, though, the adulting part, or the survive-to-thrive part means that sooner than later, you get up and go back out into the world.

I really liked what Richard from Texas said in Eat Pray Love when Elizabeth was struggling with loss. She said, 'It's been six months," (since the break up). And Richard says, "So? Throw another six months at it. These things take time."

In your case, though, I think enough time has passed. So, cry if you need to, but after each time that happens, get back out and do something that makes some kind forward progress.

You already know, ‘getting back out there’ doesn’t mean looking for love. In fact, don’t look for love. Look for meaning. Volunteer. Join groups. Create something.
