There were free market proponents against the New Deal. The Powell Memo in 1971 really galvanized them, leading to trickle down being more widely embraced and the election of Ronald Reagan. Clinton pretty much continued with the same trajectory, and Obama thought he could talk his way to change. Biden? Biden’s actually getting things done. Who knew that the man prone to gaffs who is not nearly as smooth as either of his Democratic predecessors would be getting sh!t done?
