John Egelkrout wrote a piece about taking a day off from work, before one retires, to see what a day looks like. It's the kind of thing I'd do. Don't just imagine that life, live it, see what it’s like. I've certainly heard stories about the spouse, usually a woman, who did not like it when the guy retired and was underfoot. That sucks for both parties.
