My 1990 Toyota pick up got 27-29mpg on the highway. When we went looking for a pick up (we could afford new) the trucks were bigger and averaging 23-25mpg on the highway. This is ridiculous. We ended up buying a 2003 pick up that gets us 28mpg on out long camping trips.

You're right, we don't learn.
