Re: ICUs. I work in health care, burn out existed long before COVID. But when 80-90% of people needing ICU level of care for COVID are unvaccinated, and people have had the opportunity to lessen the strain on the system? This is one reason why people in health care give up. I worry about all the people who have needs that are being delayed. I'm an agnostic reduced to praying that I or loved one won't have an emergency.
I actually understand some vaccine hesitancy; for example we delayed some vaccines for my child. But I don't think the issue is simple math or lack of nuance. It’s this; after we saw the ICUs fill up during the first wave when we didn’t have the vaccine; whatever happened to social responsibility?
