The body knows, and the body records. The body can be realigned. And the work, the practice of observing sensation and discomfort in the body, is the same skill of observing emotion and trauma, and not reacting, not letting the past continue to hurt and affect you. It’s powerful stuff. As someone who works in mental health, I would never tell anyone not to go to talk therapy, but I don’t think talk is enough in healing from certain traumas.
