You seem to suggest black conservatives and centrists are one in the same. I think there's a distinction. I would call Steve QJ a centrist. I've read enough of his pieces where he makes valid points for the middle path. However, as someone who identified once as a centrist, the failing of centrism is when you contort yourself to appear moderate or open-minded. Some issues simply don't have another valid point of view.
