This isn't quite an apples to apples comparison. For example, I am a Democrat who lives close to town in one of the older neighborhoods. This neighborhood a denser with smaller losts (average lot size is 50x100). I don't mind ADUs, but I do mind rentals changing the neighborhood, throwing up 3 story, 5 bedroom townhomes with 5 unrelated people with 5 cars.

Mixed use is a term that often gets thrown about, but in practice it's clumsy. What we need is very specific micro zoning. In my hood, for example, specifying owner occupied, allowing for infill/ADUs, and on the edges, facing out to the main arterial streets, higher density apartments or town homes. (We're a college town of about 60K population.)
